A Thought For Tuesday

Two medical appointments in one week have given me a quiet reminder to face whatever comes with a clear mind, a steady heart and a little courage.

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

I’ve  a hospital appointment later today. It’s my post-surgery check-in with the consultant.

Very likely, it will be a box-ticking exercise. Nevertheless, it’s important to attend and be proactive in my recovery.

I’ve a second appointment later this week, a telephone appointment for a different issue. Last April I had an MRI for possible prostate trouble. I’m at that age. The scan showed that everything is good, and the telephone appointment is a follow-up check-in.

In all my years, I don’t think I’ve had two medical appointments in such quick succession.

Although the quote is not directly related to my situation, I’m choosing to keep it in mind as I progress through the week.
